Job SummaryThe Regional Director provides leadership and direction to assigned areas within a Region to achieve regional Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), goals and objectives. Directly leads, mentors and supports Area Managers, supporting base level operations. Collaborates cross-functionally with Centers of Excellence peers in Clinical, Maintenance, Safety, Aviation, and Business Development to drive safety, quality and training. Responsible for oversight of operational and financial performance across all assigned bases. Instills decision making and activities that support the overall regional strategy and mission, while supporting a customer focused mentality. Acts as Account Executive for assigned customer relationships. Champions safety and quality operations which are paramount in all Air Methods Corp. operations. Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:* Responsible for the development and management of an annual P&L, operating and capital budgets for the assigned areas within the region. Drives financial performance and takes proactive and reactive steps to ensure ongoing alignment of performance with expectations for assigned group of bases.* Sets annual KPIs for Area Managers in conjunction with Regional VP and Business Development leadership, to achieve flight volume plan, same base transport volume, grow existing customer contracts, and consistent communication flows for assigned bases and the region as a whole* Works closely with the Business Development team in pursuit of new customers and acts as senior account executive for existing customers; supports the Business Development team in the creation and negotiation of critical outsourced customer contracts.* Coaches Area Managers to ensure achievement of targets as reflected in the monthly base scorecard* Lead the creation and implementation of employee career development processes and succession planning including mentoring, coaching, and modeling appropriate leadership behaviors.* Leads and coaches Area Manager performance for service excellence at assigned bases to ensure high levels of quality and business practices that meet and/or exceed established standards. Includes aviation, clinical, safety and maintenance services ensuring optimal safety practices, full regulatory compliance, maximum fleet availability and operational readiness.* Manages regional spare fleet, using information from the Area Managers, Regional Maintenance Director, in coordination with other Regional Directors and Regional Aviation Directors.* Works with Area Manager, in coordination with Corporate Human Resources, regarding regional and base terminations, job description changes, FTE increases or decreases, exempt hiring and promotions.* Facilitates the opening of new base locations and the conversion of HBS to ADM bases.* Participates in the company's response to, and mitigation of, any accidents or sentinel events in a manner that reduces negative public exposure, minimizes civil and criminal legal exposure and falls within the values of Air Methods Corp., including providing care and support to staff members and their families directly and indirectly affected.* Other Duties as assigned.Additional job requirements:* Ability to be available 24/7 for operational requirements* Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling: 60%Subject to applicable laws and Air Method's policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position.
