Overview

NaphCare is hiring Registered Nurses (RNs) just like you at the Polk County Jail located in Des Moines, Iowa. Full Time, Part Time, PRN shifts, and 8-13 week contracts are available.

Pay rates range from

$38 to $47.50

per hour based on employment status, shift, specific facility, site needs, licensure, and experience.

PRN shifts and hours vary based on coverage needs and will be determined by site leadership and prn employee availability.

Registered Nurses (RNs)

:

  • Take and document all patient history and vital signs.
  • Perform and document all patient history and vital signs, mental health screenings and/or evaluations.
  • Respond to and initiate care for medical and mental health emergencies.
  • Assist with daily triage/sick call, minor medical/surgical procedures, patient assessments, examinations and/or treatment.
  • Initiate and document prescribed protocol agreement.
  • Respond to and initiate care for medical emergencies within the facility.
  • Observe and evaluate the performance of the licensed practical/vocational nursing staff.

Qualifications

Qualifications for

Registered Nurses (RNs)

:

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in IA
  • Valid CPR card
  • Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in a healthcare setting, with correctional healthcare experience preferred
  • Position may require h /she to stand or walk for long periods of time while performing duties
