Humana Senior Product Owner in Des Moines, Iowa

The Senior Product Owner will work within the Data and Analytics team. This team is focused on data, reporting, and data science supporting Humana's Service Operations and on converting data to actionable insights for our business partners who can utilize this to reduce administrative cost and improve the customer's experience.

The Senior Product Owner is responsible for conveying product vision and roadmap to an Agile delivery team by defining user stories and prioritizing product backlog. The Senior Product Owner work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

  • Delivers new data products to meet business needs within a specified scope, while aligned to enterprise objectives

  • Works closely with the Product Manager as epics and features are created to develop the product backlog and the roadmap

  • Liaises with stakeholders and the development team ensuring the right product is being built, in the right order, within budget and by the deadline

  • Serves as the Agile team's primary contact for information, work prioritization, and decision-making

  • Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and prioritize features, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs

  • Serves as the primary point of contact between the product team and engineering teams, facilitating communication and ensuring clear understanding of requirement

  • Prioritizes and manages product backlog, working closely with engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions

  • Utilizes agile methodologies to drive product development, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups

  • Gathers and analyzes feedback from stakeholders and end-users, incorporating insights to continuously improve product features and functionality

  • Tracks and reports on key performance metrics to measure product success and inform decision - making

  • Translates the business needs to technical requirements

  • Defines user stories and acceptance criteria

  • Accepts stories through post-production validation

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner

  • Knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle, Waterfall, or Agile Development Methodologies

  • 2+ years of project leadership experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Ability to communicate effectively and deliver presentations to leaders

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Health Information Systems or a related technical field

  • SAFe Agile PMPO certification

  • Experience with Genesys or other consumer experience equivalent platforms

  • Working knowledge of ADO and Jira Align

  • Knowledge of the healthcare insurance industry

  • Experience with call centers

  • Experience producing metrics, measurements and trend reports

  • Experience in problem analysis and process

  • Knowledge of Snowflake or other cloud platforms

Additional Information

This position will be from 8AM to 5PM EST hours.

Work-At-Home Requirements

  • To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended to support Humana applications, per associate.

  • Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL connection is suggested.

  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if they provide an optimal connection for associates. The use of these methods must be approved by leadership. (See Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL Connection in Exceptions, Section 7.0 in this policy.)

  • Humana will not pay for or reimburse Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates for any portion of the cost of their self-provided internet service, with the exception of associates who live or work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$93,000 - $128,000 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
