We will also consider remotely based candidates in the United States, with a preference that you be located near a J&J facility in New Jersey or Pennsylvania. In this role you will lead the project management organization (PMO) for project activities related to new product development, line extensions, planning and manufacturing, deployment and inventory retrieval and documentation processes regarding product and portfolio strategy and management. You will lead the PMO team responsible for overall execution of product development activities, including establishing key performance indicators, performance metrics and risk mitigation activities.
Key responsibilities of the Senior Program Manager, Robotics include:
Develop project plans (including budget) and coordinate with project and extended team members, assuring alignment on the strategy and appropriate resourcing required of project execution.
Develop program metrics to align with supporting stakeholder bodies within Franchise, Sector and other Transformation bodies. Metrics will ensure transparency and accountability of supporting efforts.
Manage program risk through comprehensive mitigation assessment and planning techniques.
Drive effective communication across the functions of R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Operations and Marketing to ensure successful collaboration and execution.
Schedule and lead regular project team meetings and also determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion.
Contribute to the decision-making in key areas of portfolio lifecycle management, including financial, project planning, and human resources.
Ensure project execution is compliant with franchise training and the Quality System requirements, enabling training and certifications as necessary to release products in various global markets.
Support development of enterprise policies and procedures that govern future portfolio development and lifecycle management principles.
Demonstrated collaboration and communication skills in both team and management review environments are critical for success in this position. You will need to effectively navigate in a matrix global organization and leverage relationships with key business partners to deliver tangible results, communicate needs and issues to drive customer-focused solutions. To ensure timely execution of project objectives, you will have strong problem-solving skills, initiative and the ability to provide efficient escalation of issues to the appropriate accountable party.
Demonstrated successful experience with project or program management, the ability to manage employees, lead teams and influence others is crucial. The ability to function in a multi-cultural global environment, strong data analysis skills and capability to provide clear presentation of data are also critical skills for this position.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Engineering, Business, Finance or Supply Chain
Master’s degree or MBA preferred
A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in highly regulated area is required
Medical devices and/or orthopedic experience is preferred
Experience with full project life cycle management is required
Experience program management is required
Experience with Project Management methodologies (e.g., PMX) is required
PMP Certification preferred
Experience managing financial and budgetary aspects of programs, including business case and portfolio management required
Excellent verbal and written communications skills are required
Must have strong leadership skills
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and manage a varied workload
Experience in new product development, manufacturing and/or supply chain function is preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required
Consistently high level of professional communication required
Experience with DePuy Synthes processes and Quality System is a plus
This position will be located in Boston, MA; Warsaw, IN or Raynham, MA. We will also consider remotely based candidates in the US, with a preference that you be located near a J&J facility in New Jersey or Pennsylvania.
If located in Boston, MA; Warsaw, IN; or Raynham, MA this position may require up to 25% travel including international. If located remotely, this position may require up to 40% travel including international.
