Here is an opportunity to be a part of the Autonomous Database Service Reliability Engineering team and lead a team of experts striving to ensure the highest levels of availability and reliability for the leading Database Cloud Services, including groundbreaking Autonomous Database Services.

In this role, you will work closely with DevOps & Support teams to quickly investigate and mitigate critical incidents that impact service availability and reliability. Identify and deliver preventive measures and automated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for common and frequent issues. Work closely with various product development teams to drive and implement product/service improvements in the areas of diagnostics and resiliency. Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10 to 15 years of overall experience with 6 to 8 years as a Software Developer / Support Engineer and 3 to 5 years of experience in leading a Reliability Engineering team/support/development team.

  • Experience and expertise in Database and Engineered Systems Cloud Platform Services [PaaS, SaaS, & Exadata as a Service].

  • Hands-on Experience with Databases, including Database Administration, DB internals, testing critical Security, and Database fixes. Could have worked as DBA or Cloud DevOps.

  • Demonstrated ability to Manage Customer Escalations and drive issues to closure in collaboration with multiple / cross-functional teams as necessary

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization internally and with customer executives.

  • Good knowledge of one or more programming languages such as Java, Perl or Python and Scripting such as Shell or Bash.

  • Experience with Virtualization, Networking, and Platform Storage Architecture is highly desirable

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Related Field.

  • Writing RCA and SOP documents and sharing with the teams.

  • Identifying trends and patterns of problems reported and suggesting product improvements.

  • Identifying diagnostic opportunities and driving their implementation.

  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and function in a multi-dimensional / cross-functional team environment.

  • Experienced with multiple software development methodologies, with an emphasis and passion for Agile.

  • Ability to multitask effectively and manage multiple priorities effectively.

US: Hiring Range: from $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
