The Ford Credit Technology & Software organization creates digital software products for dealers and customers to support Ford Credit's strategic goal to be the reason customers choose and stay with Ford.

In this role you will contribute to the development of new digital products for Ford Credit Commercial customers. Ford Pro Insure will expand the one-stop shop of products and services offered by Ford Pro to commercial customers. Ford Pro customers have come to expect a complete set of products and services that ensure their fleets are the most efficient and productive business tools they can be.

Software Engineer for Ford Pro Insure will:

  • Apply technology towards successful project implementation and ongoing support.

  • Apply software skills to technical and functional aspects of the software product implementation.

  • Collaborate with team members on configuration, implementation and support.

  • Work closely with other stakeholders & teams across Ford Credit

This position reports to Engineering Manager of Ford Pro Insure.

You will….

  • Extract, analyze, and assess the business needs and workflows; implement software configurations.

  • Design and implement solutions to include custom reports.

  • Responsible for data transformation from a multitude of sources into Origami database.

  • Develop SQL scripts and queries and lead data mapping activities

  • Test software development methodology in an agile environment.

  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business users, project managers and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions.

  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.

  • Depending on size and complexity of project, may also be assigned to perform duties of project

You'll have….

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field

  • 3+ years’ experience supporting the software implementation life-cycle

  • Understanding and experience with Origami/DuckCreek/Guideware SaaS software is required.

  • Knowledge of Agile development, DevSecOps practices, APIs and microservices

  • P&C Insurance industry experience required

Even better, you may have….

  • Past experience integrating the packaged solution with third parties like Origami/DuckCreek/Guideware preferred.

  • Development Technology expertise with SQL, XML, C#, HTML/CSS, JSON, Python and JavaScript

  • Experience with database migrations, conversions, and integrations within different software systems

  • Understanding of test automation leveraging testing tools such as Cypress, Newman Postman, Selenium, etc

  • Experience with SCM tools like GitHub

  • Basic knowledge of Cloud Architecture, Cloud Security; Cloud platforms, Automation

  • Strong communication skills; must be able to work in a self-driven manner within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

  • Ability to quickly learn, apply new technologies
