Description
We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our industry leading client, based in Des Moines, Iowa. This role will involve handling both external and internal financial reporting, supporting long-term planning processes, and providing technical accounting research and guidance.
Responsibilities:
• Handle the external financial reporting and related systems.
• Conduct internal financial close and consolidation procedures.
• Prepare and review complex accounting entries.
• Generate internal management reporting outputs.
• Support the 10-year planning processes by providing financial analysis and insights.
• Conduct technical accounting research and provide guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Monitor and manage budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Ensure compliance with SEC financial reporting standards.
• Actively participate in consolidations and financial reconciliations.
Requirements • At least 5 years of experience in a senior accountant role or a similar position in the Utilities/Infrastructure industry.
• Proven proficiency in budgeting and forecasting, with the ability to create accurate financial predictions.
• Demonstrated experience in consolidations, including the preparation and consolidation of financial statements.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in external reporting, with the capability to prepare reports that meet regulatory compliance standards.
• Thorough understanding and experience in SEC Financial Reporting, including the preparation and submission of quarterly and annual reports.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required, with a preference for candidates with a certification such as CPA.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and other financial management tools.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
