General Electric Sr Engineer - Lead Software Verification and Validation Architect in Des Moines, Iowa

Role Summary:

The Lead Software Verification and Validation (V&V) Architect will be responsible for leading the verification and validation efforts by providing technical direction, strategy, and mentoring across all projects in support of the electronic power systems for military and commercial aircraft. The lead architect will drive the strategic initiatives with a broad scope and impact to the business with a primary objective of reducing cost associated with the software V&V activities.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Lead Software V&V Architect, you will be:

  • Evaluating and understanding our current state of testing and driving change across the organization to increase test automation and improve our overall testing practices

  • Developing test strategies for test automation and manual verification and external validation

  • Overseeing and directing the test development processes including: designs, reviews, implementations, and test execution

  • Continuously improving testing methodology, best practices, and standards to provide consistent testing across products

  • Working closely with other teams to build and maintain testing infrastructure and tooling

  • Work collaboratively with other sites to drive best practices and reduce cost of SW V&V effort

  • Periodically reviewing how our test strategy aligns with the latest available technologies and industry trends

  • Lead FAA and customer DO-178C technical meetings and Stage of Involvement audits

  • Certification liaison between internal and external certification authorities

  • Lead multi-site teams to meet key customer milestones

  • Hands-on execution when needed to support key customer milestones

  • Participate in estimation and scheduling of the software V&V effort for all projects

  • Lead and drive simplification and cost out opportunities to streamline software V&V processes across programs Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 10 years embedded software development, and verification and validation activities (Including Comprehensive knowledge of DO-178C guidelines)

  • Minimum of 4 years as a Lead Software V&V engineer and leading FAA / Customer DO-178C audits ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :
