Principal Sr Internal Auditor / Audit Manager in Des Moines, Iowa
What you’ll do
Principal is searching for a Senior Internal Auditor to support Internal Audit & Risk Consulting area. In this role, you’d perform risk-focused, process-based internal audits and risk consulting services for throughout the organization, with a focus in the Retirement & Income Solutions space.
In this role you can expect to:
Analyze business processes to understand the various risks that can impact achievement of goals/objects and then assess the adequacy of risk mitigation strategies and control activities
Consult with business partners to develop action plans for to enhance the process and related risk management strategies. Strong interest and desire in process learning and proactive involvement in business processes is required.
Engage with business unit leaders to conclude audits and prepare written audit reports for senior management
The successful candidate for this position will possess a high level of technical expertise. Specifically, the requirements for this job are:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer sciences, information systems, accounting, business administration or similar degree.
7+ years of relevant experience (Previous internal or external audit experience is preferred.)
Experience in the Financial Services industry is preferred.
Understanding of technical audit approaches and tool; including risk and control considerations, or ability to learn them
Interest in utilizing data analytics and related tooling to support control conclusions
CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or equivalent is desirable.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
Excellent ability to communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers
Consistent demonstrable ability to identify and assess complex risk management issues and work with internal partners to resolve them.
