Job Description

The Iowa Communications Network is looking to fill aTelecommunications Sales Engineerposition.

This job entails the following:

Work with multiple Account Consultants to qualify opportunities and to sell ICN based products and services to ICN authorized customers.

Assist account teams in ensuring customer satisfaction with service delivery.

Act as liaison between the ICN Engineering/Operations and Business Services divisions to ensure communications and understanding of requirements specific to network design, equipment layout and data configurations for ICN products and services.

Work with customers to understand their Internet, IP, data network and cyber security requirements, and design considerations. Translate these requirements into appropriate estimate and proposal requests.

Perform technology and business-related research of the ICN customer’s telecommunication

application service needs and evaluate the supporting technologies, capital investment cost, operational cost, development resources and non-technical factors to create telecom service architectural concepts to support the customer applications needs and provide positive revenue growth to the ICN.

Participate in meetings with high-level leaders as needed, concerning ICN business, technology advancements and related issues. Provide to ICN Business Services Manager, financial estimates for future upgrades and planned growth, analyze service trends and impacts on current and future revenues, recommendations on service rates to insure return on investment with competitive service offerings for ICN customers.

Work with current Vendors while onboarding new vendors and assisting in a product development roll.

Help obtain revenue growth based on the fiscal budget projections.

Meet with and advise other State/Federal agencies on telecommunications services and solutions to both communications and IT problems and issues. Find innovative solutions to telecommunications requirements that will allow State/Federal agencies to work more economically with budgets. Active participation in customer focus/user groups to recognize potential service requirements and build creative alliances with our authorized users.

Strong communication skills, knowledge of CRM databases, Visio, KMZ, and Microsoft Suite products.

Ability to understand and interpret network drawings in order to provide authorized users economic solutions.

Research new technologies to fully understand implementation requirements and implications for integration with other systems.

Provide technical and non-technical support as needed to Account Consultants.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Graduation from an accredited four year college or university and experience equal to eight years of full-time work in the field of technical telecommunications installation, maintenance and repair practices.
