Aerotek Traveling Setup Machinists in Des Moines, Iowa

Aerotek is currently hiring setup operators able to travel for a contract opportunity with a top-rated fabrication / manufacturing client in Minnesota.

Traveler compensation Included as per diem plus an increased hourly rate (see below):

Description:

Will be making short run, prototype parts. Almost all of their parts are 1-5 piece runs, and machinists do all of their own programming. All programming is done at the controller (Fanuc) using G&M codes. Machinists will be required to read the blueprint, program the part, machine the part, and then check the part. They will be machining on Cincinnati, Haas or Mori-Seiki. The position would be at one large facility in the Ramsey-Anoka, Minnesota area.

Relevant Skills:

CNC Press Brake Machinist, Horizontal Mill or Lathe Machinist, Welding, Operators Familiar with Fanuc Controls, G&M Codes, Programming, etc.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Candidates must have:

-3+ years experience doing complete setups on CNC machines with Fanuc controls

-3+ years experience doing programming at the controller on Fanuc controls using G&M codes

-2+ years experience doing short runs in a prototype environment

-2+ years experience checking own parts in the process - micrometers and calipers, CMM a plus

-2+ years experience or relevant education with GD&T - this will be tested

Compensation:

Location: Anoka, MN (30 minutes North of Minneapolis)

Starting Pay Rate: $26 - $30 USD per hour *

($45 USD for OT) + $15 USD per hour non-taxed for per diem

((8 hour average on per diem = $120/DAY ))

*Hourly rate will be determined based upon resume and a virtual interview with the clients' department manager.

Experience Level: Intermediate / Expert

From a technical standpoint, they want someone they can trust, just a good person who is confident in their technical abilities, and will produce good parts with minimal supervision. They need someone who can independently do complete setups from blueprint and do all inspections in the process. Programming and 5+ Axis CNC would be a plus, but not required.
