Job Description

Are you an energetic, multi-talented professional with a passion for logistics and warehouse operations? The Department of Administrative Services (DAS) Central Services Enterprise is seeking a dynamic individual to fill a limited duration Warehouse Supervisor position. This limited duration role (currently projected to be 13-months) offers a unique opportunity to lead critical warehouse functions, manage inventory, and ensure seamless distribution of supplies and equipment. Position Overview:As the Warehouse Supervisor, you will work closely with the Chief Operations Officer to independently execute various warehouse functions. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, including forklift operation, inventory management, documentation, load configuration, and more. In addition, you will supervise a larger team as needed to respond to contingencies, ensuring the efficient and effective management of supplies and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Distribution Coordinator:

  • Plan and coordinate loading operations to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.

  • Receive supply requests, confirm eligibility and priority of distribution, and manage coordination with transport carriers.

  • Oversee shipping, receiving, and stock handling procedures to maintain orderly and timely receipt and shipment of goods.

Inventory Management:

  • Direct and oversee record-keeping for all receipts, shipments, transfers, shortages, and breakages.

  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate inventory replacement to maintain minimum stock levels.

  • Ensure inventory records include expiration dates, and keep management informed of supplies at risk of expiration.

  • Coordinate maintenance of Durable Medical Equipment to ensure readiness for issue.

Supervision:

  • Coordinate staff augmentation during peak operating periods to meet surge requirements.

  • Instruct employees in proper and safe stock handling methods, establish work rules and regulations, and conduct training meetings.

  • Supervise and evaluate subordinates, making effective recommendations on personnel actions and administering related policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in warehouse operations and inventory management.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to operate independently and supervise a team.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in using inventory management systems and related software.

  • Knowledge of best practices for life-cycle management of goods and equipment.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Experience equal to four years of full-time warehouse operations work;

OR

employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to six months of full-time work as a Storekeeper 3;

OR

employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to eighteen months of full-time work as a Storekeeper 2 or Warehouse Operations Worker.
