Function: Product Engineering
Title: Electrical Design Engineer - Entry Level - 71198
As an Electrical Design Engineer for the John Deere Construction & Forestry division, located in Dubuque, IA you will be responsible for the electrical design of motor graders. You will focus on new product development. In addition, you will:
Lead the design and development of electrical components and harnesses
Innovate and participate in the Product Delivery Process, ensuring all activities and plans are formulated and followed to launch new vehicle programs into production
Collaborate with a cross functional team of design, verification and validation, manufacturing, supply management, product support, and quality engineers
Participate in competitor benchmarking, vehicle specification development, as well as creation and maintenance of product design guidelines for the product line
Provide problem solving support of electrical issues on prototype machines and current production units

What Skills You Need
Demonstrated strong problem-solving ability and willingness to attack emerging issues, determine root cause, and drive corrective action
Experience with electrical components/systems (through relevant course work, practical work experience or internships)
Demonstrated effective communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work in self-directed manner
Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% (domestically and internationally)
What Makes You Stand Out
Experience working in a team environment
Demonstrated effective project management skills
Experience with 3D Modeling tools for harness routing (such as: ProE-ProCable and Mentor Graphics-Capitol Harness)
Experience with electrical schematics and technical drawings through relevant course work, practical work experience or internships
Experience troubleshooting vehicle electrical systems thru practical work experience or internships
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Ag Engineering, or equivalent.
