Utilities Service, LLC Warehouse/Driver - ULCS in Dubuque, Iowa

Warehouse Driver

Under the supervision of the Warehouse General Foreperson this position will be responsible and accountable for supporting all transportation and warehouse needs to support the field personnel in the company footprint.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • General warehouse work

  • Shipping, receiving, loading and unloading trucks

  • Picking up orders, cycle counting, making deliveries throughout the customers footprint via pick-up truck, stake rack and semi-truck

  • Assist in helping field workers with material requirements, and other transportation activities as required by the needs of the company and the customer base.

  • Respond to after hour calls and overtime work as requested is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • 2+ years driving experience preferably with rigging background

  • Willing to travel to all regions within the customer footprint to participate in training and job duties

  • Must be able to work independently or in a group environment

  • Strong troubleshooting skills

  • Able to work in all customer related ROWs, Stations and Facilities

  • Must be able to work in energized substations and power plants containing voltages up to and including 345,000 volts.

  • Must be able to work with hands above head for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc. Subject to call out work

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

Pre-Screen

  • Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

License & Certifications:

  • Valid commercial driver's license class "A" required.

  • HAZMAT endorsement, tanker endorsement.

  • Forklift and Aerial lift certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • RARE (up to 10%): crawling, climbing poles

  • OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): sitting, kneeling, squatting, body twisting, sense of touch, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, climbing stairs.

  • FREQUENT (up to 66 %): standing, walking, stooping, climbing on/off truck, gripping, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., reading, reaching, range of motion, depth perception, color vision, lifting, carrying, balancing, lifting up to 10 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): manual dexterity, speaking clearly, seeing distant, seeing, hearing-speech range.

Safety

Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.

  • Must work in close proximity of energized electrical equipment up to 345,000 volts.

  • Works around hazardous equipment.

  • Works with energized parts or equipment.

  • May be subjected to high intensity and stressful situations.

  • Work in all temperatures (cold, snow, ice, wind, rain, heat).

  • Exposed to traffic and mobile equipment.

  • Works on construction sites with uneven terrain.

  • May be exposed to nature, i.e. irritating plants and biting or stinging insects.

  • Work may be performed at varying heights above ground and/or in confined spaces.
