Earlham Community School District 2nd Grade Classroom Teacher in Earlham, Iowa

Earlham Community School District is looking for a full time Elementary (2nd Grade) Teacher to begin August 2024. This position will primarily work with 2nd grade students within Earlham Elementary. Under the general supervision of the Principal, facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills by implementing district approved curriculum, documenting student progress and outcomes, addressing specific educational needs of individual students and creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment. Provide feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals. Qualifications: ? Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education ? Valid teaching license/certification for the appropriate grade level and subject area ? Strong knowledge of child development, early childhood education principles, and best practices in elementary education ? Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills ? Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students ? Commitment to continuous professional growth and lifelong learning

Responsibilities: ? Plan, prepare, and deliver creative and engaging lessons that align with the school's curriculum and educational standards, with a focus on literacy, numeracy, science, and social studies Differentiate instruction to accommodate the diverse learning needs and styles of students, including those with individualized education plans (IEPs) and English language learners (ELLs) ? Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and motivated to learn ? Establish and maintain positive communication with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and school administrators to support student success and address any concerns or issues promptly ? Utilize a variety of assessment methods to monitor student progress, identify learning gaps, and provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents/guardians ? Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote a safe, orderly, and conducive learning environment ? Collaborate with grade-level team members and other school staff to develop and implement interdisciplinary projects, initiatives, and events ? Participate in professional development opportunities, staff meetings, and school committees to enhance teaching practices, share best practices, and contribute to the overall improvement of the school community

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities ? Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy enabling differentiation ? Knowledge of middle school curriculum and concepts. ? Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans. ? Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students. ? Ability to use computer network systems, technology devices and software applications. ? Ability to organize and coordinate work. ? Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, coworkers and the greater community. ? Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth. ? Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
