Aerotek CNC Machinist in Eldridge, Iowa
Job Title: Machinist
Shift - Train on 1st for the first 2-6 weeks - 7:00AM - 3:30PM
Then move to thirds $3 differential - 11:00PM - 7:15AM
Responsibilities
Operate and adjust CNC Mill and Lathe tools to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations where programs are provided and setups are maintained by others.
Use precision measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and height stands.
Measure to .001 accuracy.
Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills.
Make adjustments to tool offsets to correct feature discrepancies.
Follow written instructions from Work Instruction Sheets.
Read blueprints and check parts for conformance.
Essential Skills
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Basic knowledge of hand tools and mechanical devices.
Basic knowledge of machining processes (milling/lathes, horizontal/vertical).
Capability to use precision measuring devices.
Competence to measure to .001.
Experience with CNC lathe and CNC mill. - MAZAK preferred.
Ability to set up machines and tooling.
Strong blueprint reading skills.
Attention to detail and strong communication skills.
