EXIRA-EHK CSD Secondary Special Education Teacher in ELK HORN, Iowa
Exira - Elk Horn - Kimballton Community School District is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with diverse learning needs and possess strong classroom management skills.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
Utilize learning technology to enhance teaching and learning experiences
Provide instruction in math, literacy education, and other subjects tailored to students' needs
Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to meet the unique needs of each student
Mentor and support students in their academic and social-emotional growth
Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
State certification in Special Education
Experience working with students
Proficiency in classroom management techniques
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations
Knowledge of evidence-based practices in special education
Ability to educate, inspire, and motivate students with varying abilities
Experience in mentoring and supporting students in their educational journey
Proficient in using learning technology to enhance teaching and learning experiences
