Parttime or fulltime Commercial Truck Driver for Local Routes

Experience/Education/Skillsets Needed:

• Class A Commercial Drivers License with Airbags required at all times with good driving record history.
  • Must be able to drive a 10 speed
  • Must comply with standard DOT random drug testing when asked
• Must be over the age of 18 to operate equipment
  • Must be able to operate fork trucks
• Must have good communication skills and work with multiple team members daily to coordinate various deliveries and movement of goods
• Must stay busy and be able to manage your own schedule and keep track of what deliveries are needed and to help stay on top of all tasks asked of you
• Work safely and follow all HWMI, DOT, and OSHA safety requirements
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and vehicle at all times

Job Description/Requirements Include:

• Driving will include:
  • HFandH - Moving of retail store merchandise for Huffmans Farm and Home in box truck, dry van or flatbed up to 3-4 times per week
  • HWMI - Delivery for Huffman Welding of a variety of equipment, fabrications, machined components and structural steel
    • Must be able to load and do your own strapping of various machinery, structural steel and other shipments
    • Majority of days would be day trips with the rare overnight required.
  • Note: must be able to keep a log book and perform daily DOT truck inspections of your vehicle prior to driving
• Other misc tasks when not driving will be required and includes but is not limited to:
  • Loading/unloading of other trucks when available such as other commercial trucks of steel and merchandise at HWMI
  • Storage organization - help move and keep merchandise/pallets/etc. organized in storage areas
  • General organization and cleaning

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to safely climb on/off trucks and properly secure loads with straps/tarps as required
• Must be able to lift and maneuver 75 to 100 lbs. without physical restrictions
• This is a 40 hour per week job with occasional mandatory overtime and overnight trips
• Exposure to heat and cold depending on weather conditions
