7th - 12th Vocal Music Instructor - Anticipated Job Opening

Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Schools (GHV) is seeking a dynamic 7-12 Vocal Music Teacher to join our team, collaborating closely with the music department to enhance student engagement and musical growth. This instructor is responsible for the 7-8 choir in the middle school and also the 9-12 choir and a vocal jazz ensemble in the high school. Concerts and contests will be part of this position.

The person hired for this role is responsible for creating a classroom environment that fosters, promotes, and develops an understanding of music. Duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Develop and implement a quality vocal music curriculum aligned to the standards.
• Foster a supportive learning environment for all students with varying abilities
• Cultivate a vibrant music program that inspires students to explore their musical talents and interests.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to provide an orderly, safe, productive and inclusive environment.
• Motivate each student to participate and engage in musical activities.
• Work cooperatively with other teachers to provide accommodations and modifications to create an experience tailored to individual needs.
• Communicate with students, parents, and relevant staff regarding student progress and concerns.
• Differentiate instruction based on students talents, strengths, and areas for growth by using formative assessment data as a guide.
• Other duties as assigned.
