GILMORE CITY & BRADGATE COMM SCHOOL Elementary Special Education Teacher in Gilmore City, Iowa

We are seeking a dedicated Elementary Special Education Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. The Elementary Special Education Teacher will work collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure that all students have access to a high-quality education and are able to reach their full potential. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student feels valued and empowered.

Responsibilities: Individualized Instruction: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, tailored to their unique strengths, needs, and learning goals. Provide specialized instruction and accommodations to support students in accessing the curriculum and making progress towards academic and developmental milestones. Collaborative Planning: Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and other specialists to plan and deliver instruction that meets the diverse needs of students with disabilities in inclusive settings. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and IEP meetings to develop, review, and revise student goals and interventions. Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Conduct ongoing assessments to evaluate student progress and determine instructional needs. Use assessment data to inform instruction, modify instructional strategies, and adjust interventions as needed to support student growth and achievement. Behavior Management and Social Skills Development: Implement positive behavior support strategies and social-emotional learning interventions to promote a positive classroom environment and enhance students' social skills and self-regulation abilities. Provide guidance and support to students in developing coping strategies and problem-solving skills. Parent and Family Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress, share strategies for supporting learning at home, and address any concerns or questions that may arise. Collaborate with families as valued partners in the education process and involve them in decision-making regarding their child's education. Professional Development and Collaboration: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education, instructional technology, and evidence-based interventions.
