GLENWOOD COMMUNITY SCHOOLS CLASSIFIED STAFF JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Seasonal Summer Grounds/Maintenance
Qualifications:
Ability to demonstrate aptitude for successful completion of assigned tasks through oral and written channels of communication
Possess and apply public relations skills effectively
Maintenance and Grounds work experience related to large-scale physical plant operation with educational facility experience being the most preferred
Other related work experience may also qualify for consideration
Provide an acceptable criminal, child abuse and drivers license record check and maintain valid driver's license
Reports To: Director of Operations /Maintenance Coordinator
Consults With: Lead Grounds/Maintenance
Essential Function:
- Ability to lift 70 pounds, operate machinery, communicate, work flexible hours, and have regular attendance
Position Goal:
- To provide a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient facility in which full educational and community use may be provided at all times
Performance Responsibilities:
Attendance is necessary to be successful in this position.
Perform district-wide maintenance/grounds duties and follow work orders as assigned
Ensure the proper storage, maintenance, and use of supplies and equipment
Comply with all district, local, state and federal laws or procedures, regarding the storage and disposal of chemicals and/or hazardous waste
Mow, water, trim and maintain all district lawns, shrubberies, flowers and trees in a safe, attractive condition and/or as directed
Perform all other duties as assigned
Terms of Employment: Seasonal position. Wage schedules shall be subject to annual review and modification by the Glenwood Board of Education or through the collective bargaining process, where one exists.
