Description We are in search of a detail-oriented Controller to join our team in Granger, Iowa. The Controller will play a crucial role in our small, privately-owned manufacturing company's leadership team, overseeing financial operations, and ensuring the implementation of effective financial processes. This position provides a unique opportunity for an individual with a profound understanding of accounting and exceptional analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial controls and reporting systems.

• Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.

• Oversee the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.

• Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Inventory Accounting.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

• Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.

• Monitor and manage cost structures, ensuring efficient use of resources.

• Develop and implement cost accounting systems and practices.

• Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.

• Manage banking relationships and optimize the company’s financing arrangements.

• Develop and maintain cash management policies and procedures.

• Partner with the CFO and senior management team to develop long-term financial strategies.

• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions.

• Participate in strategic planning initiatives, including expansions, acquisitions, and new product launches.

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

• Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to perform effectively. Requirements • Proficiency in handling Accounting Functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with Budget Processes

• Ability to manage Month End Close activities

• Capability to Analyze Financial Statements

• Knowledge of Financial Statement preparation and analysis

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field

• Relevant certifications such as CPA or CMA would be advantageous

• Prior experience in a similar role preferred

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Strong leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment.
