Job Title: Sales AssociateJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Sales Associate for our Recycling Aggregate Sales department. This position is a Manager-In-Training role, open due to the upcoming retirement of a long-term employee. The successful candidate will start in operations for 3-6 months, transition to the Sales Associate role, and eventually take over as Sales Manager. This role offers a unique opportunity for growth and development within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Gain full understanding of crushing operations at all Recycling sites.

  • Obtain and maintain AGG1 and other related certifications.

  • Conduct sales prospecting and sales calls with estimators, engineers, city officials, and other stakeholders.

  • Maintain and develop relationships with influential buyers and new customers to achieve sales goals.

  • Quote projects, project sales, and manage raw material procurement.

  • Collaborate with engineers and contractors on material approval and material submittals.

  • Stay informed on upcoming projects in Iowa and the Midwest.

  • Expand the sales of recycled materials and hauling services.

  • Work with the Recycling Sales Manager and Operations team to meet sales demand.

  • Understand competitor capabilities and market share.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in construction/construction sales.

  • 3+ years of experience in customer relations management.

  • Basic math skills.

  • Experience with Command Alkon (preferred).

  • Sales, construction sales, and account management skills.

  • Data entry proficiency.

  • Experience making outbound calls.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • College graduate with internship experience.

  • Ambitious and hard-working.

  • Experience with concrete, asphalt, paving, and ready mix aggregate.

Work Environment

The position typically requires 45-55 hours per week, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some weekend work. The work environment is a small office setting with about 35 people, providing a close-knit, collaborative atmosphere. Employees can expect opportunities for growth, with the potential to earn six figures plus bonuses once trained in sales.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $38.46
