UnityPoint Health Contract Coordinator in Grimes, Iowa
The Contract Coordinator will support the execution, ongoing management, and renewal, extension or termination of GPO and non-GPO agreements across a wide variety of products and services required in an acute and/or non-acute setting. A key component of this position will be to work closely with internal supply chain team members to support contracting efforts to drive savings and standardization efficiencies within the system. This position will report directly to the Executive Director of Contracting.
Operations and Contract Coordination
Initiates and finalizes negotiations on assigned contracts with direction from Executive Director or Contract Manager.
Coordinates the onboarding of new membership to integrate under existing GPO and non-GPO agreements across a wide variety of products and services required in an acute or non-acute setting.
Identifies and communicates operations impact savings during the membership onboarding process.
Ensures fully executed agreements are communicated and sent to the appropriate team(s) by using the contract management tool in place at the time.
Works closely with contracting managers to:
Ensure proper agreements and pricing are in place for all eligible members.
Assist with monitoring expiring contracts, resolving pricing issues and other discrepancies, triage issues and opportunities for contracting operation improvement.
Assist in contracting strategy as it relates to developing savings opportunities across the system.
Other duties as assigned.
Works closely with contract managers to capture:
Membership savings opportunities while integrating under GPO and non-GPO agreements
Updating status of onboarding efforts
Updating new GPO and non-GPO participate list
Reporting out new spend volume as a result of adding a new member to agreements
Produces a variety of reports for internal and external customers using contract management tools and GPO tools
Provides recommendations to support the goals of UPH by working with contract managers to reduce pricing discrepancies and expiring contracts by reviewing and resolving timely.
Identifies and develops onboarding process improvements on an ongoing basis.
Develops and refines contract templates and processes to support efficient operations.
Foster the training and development of the necessary skills and knowledge to onboarding members across the system.
Participates in the planning and monitoring of quality improvement activities within the department.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Supply Chain, or related field
Experience in excess of four (4) years may be substituted for education vendor market, and basic contracting processes and strategies
Experience with project coordination and driving initiatives across multiple departments preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; proficiency in navigating web-based software and solutions
Ability to take an assignment and drive it to clarity through concept and definition.
Requires highly developed communications and negotiation skills to effectively collaborate with customers and vendors
Possesses excellent writing and verbal communications skills and the ability to understand and communicate concepts and recommendations
