Job Title: Digital Marketing Manager

Department: Marketing

FLSA: Exempt

General Function

As a Digital Marketing Manager you have the opportunity to influence the way Hy-Vee engages with customers and help further shape the intersection of digital and retail. To be successful, you will bring extensive strategic knowledge and technical capabilities within the digital marketing space including, email marketing, mobile marketing, search engine optimization, analytics and a passion to improve the lives of our customers. In this role you’ll help drive the strategy and execution of digital marketing initiatives to achieve business objectives.

Reporting Relations

Accountable and Reports to: GVP, Red Media Marketing, UI/UX

Positions that Report to you: Digital Marketing Coordinator, Digital Marketing Specialist, and Email Marketing Specialist

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with leadership to understand strategic goals and objectives, creating comprehensive go-to-market execution plans that includes email, SMS, mobile messaging, rich media and in-store digital displays.

  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously across teams, solving problems, ensuring quality and adherence to deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment.

  • Partners cross functionally with IT teams to integrate, optimize and extend MarTech solutions for a seamless digital customer experience.

  • Manages content updates across a variety of content management systems and business units.

  • Analyzes, interprets and reports on analytics to refine strategies that drive digital adoption and loyalty.

  • Collaborates in defining segmentation and personalization strategies to activate customers across digital platforms.

  • Manages digital marketing staff and develops the team by providing information, educational opportunities and experiential growth opportunities.

  • Fosters a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement.

  • Reports to work when scheduled and works expected number of hours.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with stakeholders and business units in strategic discussions, goal setting, and best practices.

  • Perform other job related duties and special projects as required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics

  • Excellent project management skills with an ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects efficiently and simultaneously.

  • Extensive experience with Google Analytics, email marketing and mobile marketing.

  • SQL, HTML/CSS, SEO and Adobe Creative Suite experience preferred.

  • Ability to think analytically and problem solve complex challenges.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Experience

  • BA/BS degree in marketing or equivalent experience

  • 6+ years’ experience in the field of digital marketing

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to physically perform sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.

  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions

The duties for this position are normally conducted in an office environment. There is frequent pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
