Job Title: Linux Administrator

General Function
The system admin team is responsible for the IT server and computer system infrastructure across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will excel at obtaining results in a fast-paced environment, have excellent problem solving and communication skills, and can connect technology to real-world business challenges.

Responsibilities:
Assist with automated installations and customizations of the OS and system software products.
Works with retail, distribution center, subsidiary, and corporate personnel to resolve technical problems.
Responds to proactive alerting and monitoring tickets to ensure system uptime.
Works with Application, Network, IT Supply Chain, and IT Security teams to resolve escalated tickets.
Works with outside consultants and vendors to resolve technical issues.
Reports to work when scheduled and works expected number of hours.
Experience and Education:
A degree in MIS, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent technical field from an accredited university or equivalent work experience is required.
An in-depth disciplinary knowledge of Linux operating system and virtualization technologies in an enterprise environment. Red Hat and SUSE.
Experience with Ansible automation
Understanding of hardware and virtual platforms. VMware ESXI 7 or newer preferred.
Understanding of programming languages, including but not limited to Python, Shell, YAML, and HashiCorp hcl .
Must possess a strong willingness and desire to collaborate with other department teams to achieve a common goal
Must possess the ability to compose original correspondence; follow technical manuals; evaluate technical data; and counsel or advise people.
Physical Requirements:
Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.
Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: operating a computer, occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 10 pounds, and occasionally standing or walking.
Must be able to perform the following physical activities: meeting with customers, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions:
The duties for this position are performed in a general or remote office setting. There is weekly pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a day.
