- PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT*
Responsible for sales and marketing of all liquid fuel, propane, lubes, and energy equipment including targeting sales calls and accounts receivable within assigned territory. Grow and maintain New Century Farm Service Fast Stops in assigned territory.
- ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*
Records sales and delivery information daily
Maintains a preferred prospect list and calls on prospective customers to solicit new business
Prepares order forms and sales contracts
Communicates marketing programs and distributes sales promotion materials to customers and prospects.
Supports the company credit policy, checking credit history of patrons before making a sale, and explaining credit policy to new customers
Maintains accounts receivable records according to company credit policy
Responds to all complaints and follows through to assure satisfactory settlement.
Submits required reports and communicates activities in trade territory on a regular basis.
Maintains plant and company inventory
Ensures vehicles and equipment are maintained and in safe operating condition
Develops and maintains a record of company owned tanks and equipment.
- OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS*
May be required to conduct pressure tests to assure the integrity of the system prior to placing a system into service or in the event service is interrupted.
May be required to maintain records of all regulators, including date of manufacture, and changes regulators as necessary.
May be required to perform leak tests on customer systems as required.
May be required to fill in for LP and Fuel drivers.
Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Normally requires a High School Diploma, or equivalent, and 1 year experience related to the position.
Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Must be able to achieve and maintain Certified Propane Specialist & Energy Management Specialist certification.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat, Air brakes, and Tanker endorsement and satisfactory driving record.
Frequently exposed to extreme weather conditions. Working conditions may occasionally include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures.
Occasionally may be required to work at varying heights.
Frequently required to lift 51lbs – 70lbs
Must be able to travel independently and overnight
Must be willing to work hours beyond those considered “normal.”
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
