Job Summary:
This position is responsible for all matters pertaining to Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) product testing, troubleshooting, and compliance, including prevention of compliance issues, developing and executing compliance programs, completing associated documentation, and providing subject matter expertise in EMC through consultation and guidance.
Essential Functions
Prevent compliance issues by collaborating with engineering planning and design teams; reviewing design data; identifying and resolving product and engineering design issues; identifying short-term and long-range issues; researching and identifying applicable regulatory and industry compliance standards and codes; developing compliance policies.
Develop compliance plans by researching, analyzing, selecting, and applying compliance engineering concepts, approaches, techniques, and criteria; adapting and modifying compliance engineering options; developing and evaluating new compliance methodologies; qualifying vendors, components, and parts.
Organize compliance programs by preparing timetables, cost estimates, and identification of required resources including test laboratories and equipment.
Determine compliance by establishing compliance test standards; conducting and witnessing tests; performing diagnostic procedures; measuring performance; analyzing and evaluating findings; performing forensic analysis of failures; troubleshooting failures; supervising technicians and sub-contractors.
Attain compliance by isolating and resolving non-compliance issues; recommending product and process changes; initiating engineering change notices.
Document compliance by completing approval applications; recording test results; preparing investigative reports; preparing and filing Declarations of Conformity; maintaining compliance database.
Maintains engineering team accomplishments by reviewing open issues and action items; coordinating actions; contributing information and analysis to team meetings and reports.
Prepares compliance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing measurement data and trends.
Prepare qualification by analysis and qualification by similarity reports.
Update job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging compliance engineering practices and standards; participating in educational opportunities and professional organizations; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks. Records and updates the team on new compliance standards.
Enhance engineering and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Comply with safety, quality, and ESD guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of basic antenna theory and basic transmission line theory
Knowledge of shielding and grounding principles preferred
Must be able to sit, stand and bend at various times while lifting and reviewing the computer hardware items
Ability to lift (up to 50lbs), transport and inspect products and effectively use the computer on a daily basis is needed.
This position usually requires infrequent (<25%) travel to third-party laboratories for coordination and oversight of testing.
Must be able to demonstrate experience in multitasking to meet several simultaneous project milestones up to and including completion of several projects. Works well both independently and in a team environment and is willing to change priorities as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in the field of science/engineering or equivalent experience.

Basic Qualification
Must be a US Person (US Citizen, person granted US Permanent Resident Card or any individual who is granted status as a "protected person”)
Bachelor’s degree in the field of science/engineering or 5+ years of EMC experience.
