Operates and maintains single or tandem axle trucks and other equipment. Performs all job functions in a timely and accurate manner to increase customer satisfaction and maintain the reputation and profitability of the organization. * ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS* * _ * Responsible for maintaining operations at retail supply location. Follows maintenance schedule of facility and equipment. Responsible for inventory and distribution of products. Drives and delivers miscellaneous products as requested. Stocks and moves warehouse product and material. Assists both full-time and part-time operations personnel. Maintains the facility and equipment image. Assists in obtaining goals by improving efficiency and reducing costs. Provides excellent customer service. Sets up material handling, blending, storage, transport and application equipment for blending and delivery of products. Blends products according to recommended rates and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to safely operate sprayers, floaters, single or tandem axle trucks and other equipment to meet company and DOT standards Performs and records daily safety checks of assigned vehicle(s) and associated equipment by conducting pre-trip inspections, such as checking fuel and oil levels, inspecting tires, lights, and brakes. Loads and unloads containers, pallets, or materials and products, safely on/off trucks, trailers, or railcars. Ensures products are evenly balanced and distributed on trucks/trailers and proper axle weights are met. Responsible for the inventory control and turns in application records on a daily basis. Assures all products are accounted for with either an invoice or delivery ticket. Responsible for maintaining, repairing, rebuilding, and/or servicing location equipment, vehicles, and structures as needed Follows Three Rivers Company Policies OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. Performs all other duties as assigned. * _REQUIREMENTS* Normally requires a high school diploma or the equivalent thereof, and 0-2 years of related work experience. Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development. Must have or obtain and maintain a CDL license with required endorsements, a satisfactory driving record and valid medical card. Must hold and maintain, or have the ability to obtain, all required pesticide or fertilizer applicator licenses or certifications in states where crop production inputs are applied. Responsible for renewing licenses or certifications as required and reporting status of licenses or certifications to the Location Manager. Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant. Occasionally exposed or required to: * Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.) * Noisy conditions * Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards, requiring utilization of appropriate safety measures * May be required to work at varying heights * Lift 51 - 70 lbs. Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on Three Rivers’ policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position Scope Responsible for own work only; some direct or indirect control over expenses and revenue generation; may make some budgetary recommendations; accountable for results of own work. Guidelines Works accordingly to guidelines, but may make changes with pre-determined guidelines. Complexity The work consists of duties that involve various related steps, processes or methods. Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Certificates, Licenses Registrations Custom Applicator licenses. Appropriate driver’s license, CDL with Hazmat, Tank and air brakes. Employee must be insurable to operate required vehicles. Must have valid drivers license. Materials, Equipment and Software Used Sand blasting equipment and materials, paint sprayers, and dry floaters. Knowledge of basic computer operating systems. Physical Demands The work requires considerable strenuous physical activity such as frequent climbing of tall ladders, lifting heavy objects (70+ pounds) and the use of transportation equipment. Work Environment The work environment involves risks with frequent exposure to potentially dangerous situations which require a range of precautions or significant opportunity for personal injury if an error or mishap occurs.
