Description We are offering a contract-to-hire employment opportunity for a meticulous and organized Bookkeeper in Independence, Iowa. The primary function of this role is to manage financial transactions, with a specific focus on accounts payable, account reconciliation, and general ledger operations. This role involves maintaining vendor accounts, performing regular account reconciliations, and preparing financial reports.

Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness

• Maintain vendor accounts and stay in regular contact with key vendors to confirm account accuracy

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance

• Review the general ledger on a regular basis to ensure accuracy of posting

• Prepare and adjust journal entries, documents, and other financial reports to reflect accurate accounting records

• Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger account balances

• Assist with internal and external auditing procedures

• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial reports and summaries

• Participate in the budgeting process and assist with the preparation of financial forecasts

• Adhere to company policies and applicable legal rules and regulations. Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience as a Bookkeeper

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Expertise in Bank Reconciliations

• Strong bookkeeping skills

• Ability to perform Data Entry tasks accurately and efficiently

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel

• Experience in Month End Close procedures

• Knowledge and experience in managing Payroll

• Proficiency in using QuickBooks

• Ability to analyze financial statements effectively and provide insights
