Buchanan County Health Center Nursing Administrative Assistant in Independence, Iowa
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Nursing Administrative Assistant coordinates the schedules, activities and communication of multiple nursing and clinical departments and performs timely completion of tasks and other duties to ensure providers, patients, families, and visitors receive exceptional care and services. The Nursing Administrative Assistant performs general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of multiple nursing departments, a ssists the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Manager in updating the trauma registry, collaborates with the Trauma Program Manager to define optimal processes for data abstraction and measures to ensure data timeliness, accuracy, and completeness for trauma registry inclusion and participation in the trauma performance improvement and patient safety plan. The Nursing Administrative Assistant is the primary lead for the data extraction and validation for the trauma registry and actively participates in the quarterly multidisciplinary trauma committee.
EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
LPN, Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, or Medical Secretary. Diploma or certification preferred. Knowledge of Medical Terminology required.
Three to five years of experience providing hands-on nursing care in a clinic or hospital environment or same years of experience providing administrative support to clinic or hospital-based management personnel.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.
Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel is required, along with ability to operate fax and copy machines. Preferred experience in EPIC, PowerPoint and Access.
Salary Range
$20.00 - $28.00
