Persons appointed to this position will receive the privileges and benefits associated with regular employment status.Duties:The UI Health Care Marketing and Communications Web Team provides support for the organization's major consumer facing web properties, including uihealthcare.org, uihc.org, uichildrens.org, and medicine.uiowa.edu. The developer will be responsible for the analysis, design, implementation, and support of UI Health Care's Web-based communication efforts. The employee will build new features and fix bugs on these websites.Provide support for websites running on Drupal (versions 7 and 8)-this includes site building, theming, and development of custom modulesDesign and code landing pages for various marketing campaignsProvide support for websites running on WordPressProvide support for C# .NET applicationsWork with colleagues in marketing to develop sites that highlight a particular clinic, service line, or serviceMeet with non-technical peers and gather requirements for web projectsWork closely with constituents in concept and project developmentDesign, develop, and maintain web-based applications and pages for University of Iowa Health Care and its associated units-this may entail ensuring navigation and informational integrity, writing customized web applications (both server- and client-side), interacting with SQL data sources, and attending to accessibility guidelinesApply search engine optimization methods and maximize visibility in an effort to drive target audiences to websitesDocument applications, systems, and proceduresFollow web-based trends, applications, and technologies to allow University of Iowa Health Care to be a leader in technology integration5 Professional References will be required later in the search processEducation Required:Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience Required:3 years of relevant experienceProficiency with at least one modern (object oriented) programming language (preferably PHP and C#)Proficiency with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, and SQL (preferably MySQL)Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skillsStrong development and problem solving skillsExceptional ability to communicate highly technical concepts to any audienceExperience with all aspects of the lifecycle of a web application; wireframing, design, frontend and backendUnderstanding of web standards, web accessibility best practicesProficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as git/mercurial/svnDesirable Qualifications:An advanced degree in a related fieldStrong design aesthetic and good understanding of best practices in digital typography and layoutExperience working with Drupal (preferably versions 7 and 8)Experience working with WordPressExperience with CSS pre-processorsExperience with usability testingGood understanding of SEO principlesKnowledge of web analytics tools (ex.
