Persons appointed to this position will receive the privileges and benefits associated with regular employment status.Duties:The College of Pharmacy has an immediate need for a Data Analyst. This position is responsible for design, analysis, implementation, and support of custom developed and/or integrated data reporting solutions for the College of Pharmacy. Works independently, with guidance from the direct manager, to perform routine and advanced tasks associated with formalized business intelligence solution development.This Professional & Scientific full-time position will be filled as a Data Analyst (PID1). This position is not eligible for H-1b visa sponsorship.Below are the key areas of responsibility for this position.Data Analysis, Migration and ManagementDevelop and maintain reporting applications to enable and enhance reporting needs of the unit/dept/division/organization.Conduct data integrity audits. Monitor workflow processes.Consult with users to define functional/technical specifications for limited scope solutions.Lead in the design of data driven dashboards and reports. Assist with data analysis.Plan and model databases utilizing standard SQL design theory and methods.Database Development/ReportingCreate databases and reports, as directed. Maintain documentation. Respond to data requests.Recommend tools, languages, technologies, techniques, and standards.Implement database dashboards, and reports.Implement according to standards and ensure compliance with 508 guidelines as appropriate.Assist with the development of automation scripts and programs for database management and support.Utilize unit's tools and techniques for limited scope projects.Design/ModelingReview pre-defined database specification.Review, model and write documentation. Assist in modeling exercises.Project ManagementCoordinate work with internal stakeholders, ITS, or other University divisions as appropriate.Collaborate with users to document functional and technical specifications.Complete special projects as assigned.Provide user support for solutions delivered.Business AnalysisIdentify business system requirements by analyzing work processes and operations; evaluate business and information systems functionality.Act as liaison to functional expert for the translation of business practice into systems.Analyze, document, and recommend business process design in applicable area.Leadership/Staff Management/Financial ResponsibilityContribute ideas and seek ways to improve assigned processes.May provide functional supervision; provide direction, assignments, feedback, coaching and counseling to assure outcomes are achieved.Encourage and promote adherence to University IT standards, accessibility, and University acceptable use policies.Represent the college in relevant campus organizations and communities as approved.The information contained herein is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities required of individuals performing the job.
