The largest college in the University by student enrollment, CLAS is the hub of liberal arts education at the University and across the state of Iowa. The dean provides leadership and oversight for the strategic, academic, intellectual, and administrative affairs of CLAS, and must be a visible and familiar presence within the College and across campus. The dean must have a successful track record of leading multi-faceted units. This person should be a strong communicator as well as forward-thinking and innovative.Direct reports to the dean currently include the executive associate dean; associate dean for undergraduate programs, curriculum, & online education; associate dean for graduate education; associate dean for outreach and engagement; associate dean for research/infrastructure; assistant dean; director of strategic communications; director of administrative planning & operations; director of human resources; and an administrative manager.
