Most need will be to teach on Monday and Tuesday, but hours will vary with course schedules and orientation needs.Key Areas of Responsibilities and Specific Job TasksClassificationKey Areas of ResponsibilitiesSpecific Job Duties and TasksDevelop Instructional Materials:May design, create, develop and evaluate instructional or artistic materials. May evaluate the instructional effectiveness of the strategies and pedagogical/andragogical approaches used.* Provide in-person and on-line instruction of designated courses teaching technical and clinical skills for direct care staff members. Examples of training may include Alaris Pump training, Vital Signs Skills or Activities of Daily Living (ADL).* Provide in-person and on-line instruction of designated professional development courses.* Assist with the development of courses as requested.* Evaluate and assess participant knowledge of course content and ability to perform skills taught.* Evaluate effectiveness of training by obtaining feedback from participants and unit leaders on how well staff were prepared. Revise courses based on evaluation feedback.Instruct, Train, Consult, Support:Consult and collaborate with faculty, staff in area of specialty. May administer and manage learning management system (ICON).* Consult with staff in the Nursing Clinical Education Center and nursing leaders on needed courses and content. Assist in developing course content and evaluation.Facilities/Technology Management:Manage an instructional support facility (e.g., lab, center, studio), including financial and administrative responsibilities. Support the application of technology within the teaching facility. Operate and maintain complex equipment, requiring specialized knowledge or skills. Assure facilities are in compliance with federal and state regulations pertaining to health and safety.* Operate and maintain equipment used in the courses. Equipment may be used for direct patient care or be technology to present courses.Operational Management (Financial and Administrative):Monitor course enrollments and budget adjustments based on enrollments. Analyze, monitor and report financial data, information and reports.* Coordinate class schedules and size with Nursing Clinical Education Center staff.* Maintain and provide statistics on courses presented.Supervision:* Not applicable* Position QualificationsAs part of performing the key areas of responsibility and competencies described above, staff members are expected to meet reasonable standards of work quality and quantity, as well as expectations for attendance established by their supervisor.
