Cargill Process Relief Operator in Iowa Falls, Iowa

This full time position is located in Iowa Falls, IA; however please expect receiving calls from a 952 number in case you are considered. Relocation assistance is not provided.

The purpose of this position is to operate equipment associated with the crush process. Operators in this position are responsible for the effective and efficient operation of prep, extraction, meal loadout. They will ensure that the equipment is fully operational and in good repair. Interacts on a regular basis with crush operators, supervisors or other personnel.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide qualified production operation support in the following areas: prep, extraction, elevator.

  • Process samples utilizing lab equipment to obtain and record values on a computer spreadsheet and collect samples for several process areas.

  • Provide absence coverage for the Solvent Department Operators (Prep, Extraction, and Grinding).

  • Perform housekeeping and greasing duties as assigned.

  • Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions as required.

  • Operate different machinery and/or industrial equipment such as forklift, loaders, and scissors lifts.

  • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment utilized by facility; determine immediate and long-range needs for maintenance and repair work.

  • Enter work orders utilizing maintenance computer program.

  • Respond appropriately to supervision by following policies and cooperate with supervisors.

  • Understand and adhere to state and federal Occupational Safety and Health rules and regulations as related to plant safety. Follow all Cargill safety rules and regulations.

  • Maintain a safe and sanitary atmosphere with a high regard for environmental impact of the operation

  • Assist other crush and plant personnel as needed, and will perform any other duties as requested by the production supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.

  • Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility.

  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)

  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Ability to understand and communicate in English(verbal/written)

  • High School diploma or Equivalent

  • Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice.

Preferred:

  • Able to operate machinery and/or industrial equipment

  • Forklift certified

  • Basic use of a computer and typing skills

  • Experience with SAP or a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, with an emphasis on Excel and Word

  • Working knowledge of inventory systems

  • Prior experience in production related work
