Position Summary
American Athletic, Inc is a major sports equipment manufacturing company located in Jefferson, Iowa. We are owned by Spalding; a division of Fruit of the Loom, an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., & leading international basic apparel company.
We currently have an opening for a Material Handler. This position loads, unloads and moves materials within or near plant, yard or work site by hand, pallet jack, or forklift. May complete other duties assigned by Supervisor. Starting wage of $20.38 an hour, progressing to $22.38 after successfully completing probation.
AAI is the official equipment supplier to USA Gymnastics®, NCAA® Gymnastics Championships, the YMCA® National Championships, the Nadia Comaneci International Invitational, and the Bart Connor Invitational. AAI is also an official supporter of the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame. Spalding has been the official backboard of the NCAA Final Four Championships since 2009 and is one of the most well-known brands in the industry.
Specific Responsibilities
Load, unload and transport materials or containers within or near plant, yard, or work site.
Move materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
Assemble crates to contain product.
Stack or assemble material into bundles and band bundles together.
Load materials and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
Use electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials.
Transport product from storage or work sites with industrial truck.
Enter daily receipts into inventory system to maintain accurate inventory records. Record finished product into and out of permanent store locations.
Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or other containers.
Make simple adjustments or repairs to product and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Must pass facility-administered tests to obtain lift license according to company standards
Solid computer skills, ability to utilize warehouse inventory system
Basic math skills, ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
Ability to read and understand various shipping and receiving documents
Minimum Job Experience Required
- One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
