American Athletic, Inc has an immediate opening for aMaterial Handlerat its Jefferson, Iowa facility.

This position loads, unloads and moves materials within or near plant, yard or work site by hand, pallet jack, or forklift. May complete other duties assigned by Supervisor.

Starting wage of $20.38 an hour, progressing to $22.38 after successfully completing probation.Pay will be determined based on qualifications.

Load, unload and transport materials or containers within or near plant, yard, or work site.

  • Move materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Assemble crates to contain product.
  • Stack or assemble material into bundles and band bundles together.
  • Load materials and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Use electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials.
  • Transport product from storage or work sites with industrial truck.

Enter daily receipts into inventory system to maintain accurate inventory records. Record finished product into and out of permanent store locations.

Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or other containers.

Make simple adjustments or repairs to product and equipment.

  • Class A CDL with airbrakes preferred, but not required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must pass facility-administered tests to obtain lift license according to company standards
  • Solid computer skills, ability to utilize warehouse inventory system
  • Basic math skills, ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
  • Ability to read and understand various shipping and receiving documents
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
