Heartland Area Education Agency Challenging Behavior and Autism Consultant in Johnston, Iowa

Description:

Heartland AEA has a full-time position available for the 2024-25 school year, serving Regions 1 and 2 (Office to be determined). This position will have a 192-day contract. Applicants must have significant experience in supporting challenging behavior. This position provides expert-level problem-solving, consultation, modeling and coaching for teachers, paraprofessionals and AEA staff. A strong background in behavior analysis, instructional/intervention design, testing hypotheses, writing FBAs and BIPs and coaching implementation is required.

Qualifications:

Qualified applicants must be appropriately licensed/certified by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners or have a post-master’s level of professional training in an approved behaviorally-oriented program. Basic computer and technology skills are required. Prefer applicants who have a Specialist Degree or Master’s plus 30 hours.
