Job Title: Diesel Technician

Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Diesel Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of equipment and vehicles. Your daily tasks will involve troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with a variety of machinery, including backhoes, man lifts, cranes, excavators, dozers, dump trucks, pickup trucks, conveyor systems, and more. A significant part of your role will be conducting preventative maintenance to ensure the longevity and optimal functioning of our equipment. This will include the replacement of fuel, oil, and air filters, lubrication, and the maintenance of belts, bearings, tracks, wheels, brakes, and fluids. You will also be adept at removing and replacing key components such as clutches, differentials, radiators, transmissions, and steering columns, as well as repairing systems including suspension, cooling, air, after-treatment, light electrical, and structural components through fabrication.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Johnston, Iowa.

Work Environment

The selected candidate will work first shift hours from 7 am to 5:30 pm, amounting to a 50-hour workweek with potential for more hours, though rarely less. You will be part of a small, close-knit team of 3 people within a newer, generally organized shop. Be prepared to encounter a typical workshop setting, which may include dirt and mud from machinery brought in from the field.
