We have an exciting opportunity for a Master's level Social Work or Mental Health Counseling student to intern at ChildServe! What You'll Do
Research topics of interest for families/patients and staff.
Use research to maintain parent handouts and develop presentations.
Observe assessment and therapeutic sessions within mental health to identify treatment providers for psychological disorders and the training required for each.
Present cases orally and in writing.
Conduct comprehensive assessment interviews with supervision.
Conduct individual, family and group therapy with supervision.
Other clinical and social work related tasks as agreed.
What You'll Need
Enrollment in a Master’s of Social Work or Mental Health Counseling program
Ability to work independently with basic verbal and written instructional guidance from others.
Ability to maintain positive working relationships and demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population.
Must exercise confidentiality regarding the affairs of clients, staff, their families, and Child
Computer skills including Microsoft Office, and ability to proficiently learn new software programs.
Ability to interpret and follow applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
Ability to communicate in English effectively for understanding, in writing and verbally.
Understanding of counseling skills such as active listening, reflecting and summarizing and desire to learn and strengthen.
Experience managing both remote and in person tasks and communication effectively.

Schedule/Time Frame
Schedule negotiable; afternoon/early evening availability ideal
Time frame negotiable, one semester to one academic year
This internship is an unpaid opportunity. The role can be offered to those applicants seeking course credit and/or specific college internship requirements.
