Delta Dental of Iowa is seeking a detail-oriented and organized part-timeOperations Support Specialistto join our dynamic team. In this role, you will handle a variety of tasks to support our Operations teams, including data entry, data gathering, scanning, invoicing, and proofreading. You'll also provide backup support to the reception desk and mailroom. Your responsibilities will include keying information, sorting, and scanning documents in line with established policies and procedures, as well as ensuring proper filing or cataloging of documents for future retrieval. As a key team member, you will contribute to achieving company objectives by fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment. Essential Functions and Principal Accountabilities:

  • Sort and scan incoming mail. Prepare documents and review claim entry, program integrity review and refund processing.

  • Entering data into spreadsheets or databases efficiently and accurately, with the objective of meeting and exceeding established production and quality standards.

  • Review and enter monthly operations invoices for manager approval. Work with vendors as needed with questions.

  • Establish and maintain team working relationships with customers, co-workers and other resources as needed.

  • Maintain a highly organized document retention system (paper and/or scanned).

  • Perform quality assurance.

  • Work with leader on workflow coordination.

  • Provide back up support to the reception desk and mailroom.

  • Complete special projects on time with high quality.

  • Represent Delta Dental of Iowa as well as the other Delta Dental companies in a professional manner both internally and externally.

  • Contribute towards company objectives and results by focusing on a strong team environment.

  • Assist other areas of Delta Dental to meet corporate goals.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with two years of insurance or related experience, further education can be substituted for experience.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Effective interpersonal skills.

  • Advanced PC skills including the ability to troubleshoot common problems and navigate the internet/web services. Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) experience preferred.

  • Ability to analyze information and make independent decisions in accordance with Delta Dental policies and procedures.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve assigned tasks.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize and function effectively with multiple tasks/assignments.

  • Ability to meet and talk with guests & customers and respond to their questions and concerns in a professional manner.

  • Basic math ability.

  • Dependability in attendance and punctuality required.
