Actalent Safety Manager in Johnston, Iowa
Description:
The Safety Manager is charged with ensuring company-wide safety protocols are developed, maintained, and enforced. This position serves as mentor and provide support for all staff as it relates to safety.
• Be an advocate for Henning’s safety culture, always doing the right thing, and promote safety of those around you
• Lead by example in the office and on jobsite by utilizing proper personal protective equipment and following all safety regulations
• Develop and ensure Project Safety Plans are being utilized on all jobsites
• Conduct training for project employees and consult with project supervisors to develop safe work plans for all project phases and tasks

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Health, or related field preferred
• Active Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST)
• 5+ years’ experience in construction safety
• Valid driver’s license required
• Proof of training/competency in managing crane, fall protection, excavation, scaffolds, and heavy equipment safety
• Experience managing teams through safety planning process, including onsite project experience
• Exceptional communication and effective listening skills; bilingual abilities a plus
• Ability to read people and adapt your approach to achieve results
• Effective contributor and team player, which can plan and organize a team with the capacity to motivate and boost morale
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Procore experience preferred
