Heartland Area Education Agency School Social Worker Interventionist in Johnston, Iowa
Description:
The School Based Social Worker Interventionist will work with the Carroll Community School District and the Exira-Elk-Horn-Kimballton Community School District to provide social-emotional-behavioral instructional interventions while supporting implementation of the local schools’ Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). This postion will be based out of Heartlland AEA's Carroll office and work a 192 day contract.
Qualifications:
Qualified applicants must have a Masters degree in Social Work from a graduate school of Social Work and accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and a license or Statement of Professional Recognition, which requires verification of the human relations course. The license of School Social Work requires completion of an approved program. Prefer t wo years of successful experience in public school social work or child-related social work and t raining in education and understanding of public school services and special education.
