Johnston Community School District Substitute Nutrition Worker in Johnston, Iowa

Position Summary: Preparation, serving and clean up of food and equipment for the Nutrition Department.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to read and write English, perform basic arithmetic and follow oral and written directions

  • Ability to stand continuously and have the capacity to lift 50 lbs safely

  • Ability to relate to children

  • Possess good communicative, collaborative, and interpersonal skills

  • Food service preparation experience preferred

Successful completion of a criminal background check and physical capacity profile test will be required upon offer.

  • Responsible for maintaining serving line

  • Responsible for operation, cleaning, and maintaining foodservice equipment

  • Maintains appearance appropriate to job responsibilities (wear appropriate uniform clothing, hair net covering on the hair, and comfortable & safe rubber-soled shoes)

  • Perform job-related duties as requested by supervisor

Terms of Employment: Substitutes are called and used on an “as needed basis” with no guarantee of hours or days.
