KEOKUK COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT Student Information System Specialist in Keokuk, Iowa

Job Description Coordinates and oversees the Districts Student Information System (SIS) including the proper enrollment of students and the integrity and smooth operation of the Student Information System. The SIS Coordinator oversees all aspects of student enrollment, manages the schools student information database, runs queries to extract information, and coordinates data reporting to the Iowa Department of Education, working closely with all school stakeholders. The SIS Coordinator supports the Department of Instructional Services in ensuring timely and accurate data. The SIS Coordinator serves as a liaison with school personnel, provides assistance for school-based entry, and ensures the coordination and execution of all data transmittals to the Iowa Department of Education. Keokuk Community School District utilizes PowerSchool as its student information system.

Specifications/Qualifications:

  1. High school graduate or GED; and two-year technical degree or related experience.
  2. Organization and prioritizing skills.
  3. Advanced skills insupportedcomputer platforms and software/hardware.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of UNIX, Mac OS, and Windows systems.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of networking protocols.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge of SQL and relational database principles.
  7. Ability to work with customers and internal staff - in person and on the phone.
  8. Receive, deploy and follow-up on allsupportrequest with written confirmation of problem, solution, and follow-up.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Normal, routine levels of bending, climbing, carrying, reaching, sitting, standing, and walking.
  2. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  3. Sufficient manual dexterity to be able to assemble hardware, move equipment such as printers, projectors, and computers.
  4. Ability to travel between sites served.
