Wells Dairy Inc. Wellness Screener - Days, Nights & Weekend Options in Le Mars, Iowa


Wells is seeking Wellness Screeners for all of its facilities. Both full time and part time opportunities are available, in addition to the option of days, nights and weekends. Positions start at $16 - $18 per hour, depending upon experience, plus $1.25 for night shift. Duties include: help maintain the health and safety of our employees by performing wellness screens of each individual attempting to enter the facility. Includes the following duties:

As each person enters the facility, follow the screening process precisely

  • Check the employee's badge
  • Ask the screening questions
  • Take the temperature of the individual
  • If the individual does not pass the wellness screen, follow the procedures outlined
  • Always maintain professionalism and confidentiality
  • Follow guidelines exactly to ensure consistency and avoid discrimination
  • Keep up to date on process changes
  • Maintain social distancing as employees wait for screening
  • Provide documents per process
  • Update HR Business Partners per process
  • Communicate effectively with employees and HR Business Partners
  • Enter information into iPad accurately
  • Conduct screening process consistently with same script and process each time
  • Manage the flow of screening effectively, maintaining social distancing and keeping the employees moving quickly through line
  • Handle situations that come up with good judgement and professionalism

EDUCATION: High school education required; further education in health care field preferred

EXPERIENCE: Previous experience working with people required. Experience as a CNA or other nursing related area strongly preferred


  • Knowledge - Basic health knowledge regarding how to ask about symptoms, how to handle a thermometer, confidentiality and HIPAA knowledge.

  • Skills - Good interpersonal skills, confidentiality, and some technical skills to handle iPad entry. Detail orientation.

  • Abilities - Ability to maintain order, follow a precise process exactly and with repetition. Maintain confidentiality and poise with employees while screening. Effectively manage questions and redirect as appropriate. Educate employees effectively on process. Keep the line moving by working quickly and efficiently. Maintain order if employees are not social distancing. Use iPad to effectively enter information.
