Location Description Michael Foods, Inc. located in Lenox, Iowa and often called the "Pearl of the Prairie" is where you can find small town living, focused on family and friends, with big city amenities not far from reach in Des Moines, Omaha, and Kansas City. Located in southwest Iowa, Taylor county, with a population of around 1400, the Lenox area reaches far beyond the city limits with beautiful and productive fields of corn, beans, and other croplands. Lenox holds an amazing four day Rodeo every July and is home to a beautiful 36-9 hole golf course, several fishing and boating lakes, great area hunting, a beautiful city park with swimming pool, and many picnic parks. The MFI location in Lenox produces primarily pre-cooked egg patties. Responsibilities #2ndshift #firstinpeople SUMMARY: Assists in training of all processing and production personnel in assigned department. Assists supervisor in administrative duties such as attendance, disciplinary action and training. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability. Qualifications DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Helps in providing for a safe work environment for all personnel. Also helps ensure that all production complies with food safety standards as established by Michael Foods, Inc. Works with supervisor to help maintain sanitation standards of facility. Assigns work tasks to department personnel. Assists with safety audits Helps maintain control records related to processing, including but not limited to production records, safety inspections. Maintains effective working relationship between members of department and other areas. Continually monitors lines for quality product and notifies all appropriate personnel if discrepancy is found. To follow all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements and safety procedures To follow all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) “washing hands, etc.” throughout the day. To follow all HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) guidelines. To follow SOP (Sanitation Operating Procedures), SSOP (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures) and keep records updated To follow USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) regulations and guidelines Monitors processing equipment on a continual basis to maintain proper production standards. Reports and fills out work orders on maintenance issues as they relate to productivity, food safety, quality and human safety to maintenance. Encourages suggestions from employees which will improve productivity, quality or control cost of production. Maintains accurate downtime records and Daily shift report of all equipment in assigned area. Completes daily paperwork, SAP (System Applications Product in Data Processing),PEB, Brill of Lading as needed. Assures that all paper work is being done properly. Assume personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and healthy in all jobs and tasks. Adhere to Quality work practices, follow all GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality. Ensure regulatory compliance at all times. Perform other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED: EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
