This position will direct the work of the Sanitation Technicians and assist the Sanitation Manager in maintaining a clean plant for safe working conditions as well as ensuring the safe production of a quality product processed in accordance with mandated and established company procedures.
Compensation starting at $19/hr.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or GED required. Post high school education in chemistry, food sciences or a related field is highly preferred.
Experience: Food manufacturing sanitation management/leadership experience strongly preferred.
JOB DUTIES:
Sanitation Process:
Analyze, forecast and plan production objectives.
If required by site, schedule Sanitation Techs and assign maintenance work orders as needed.
Coordinate with production their area workflow including:
When area will be down for sanitation purposes.
Preplace equipment needed for clean
Maximizing Sanitation efficiencies and time utilization.
Troubleshoot the production/sanitation process including:
Assist maintenance/utility person with repairs on equipment/machinery breakdowns or notify appropriate personnel to coordinate outside repair services.
Ensure the flow of production/sanitation, redirecting sanitation techs employees to areas of the process needing immediate attention.
Document and understand required data to control sanitation processes.
Assist in the development and updating of standard operating procedures.
Complies with and follows company food safety and quality policies.
Monitor the sanitation processes, anticipate production/sanitation concerns and make effective decisions while striving for continuity of the production/sanitation process.
Demonstrate proficiency using each piece of equipment on the floor.
Complete daily reports in absence of Sanitation Manager.
Any other needs that may arise for sanitation purposes
Training & Development:
Provide safety training, including all mandated sanitary policies and regulations, according to established procedures.
Conducts and provides quality and Sanitation training for Sanitation personnel.
Leadership:
Assigns work, ensures employees have what they need to get the job done.
Provides recommendations for employment actions including performance evaluations, but is not the direct supervisor and does not personally carry out hiring, terminations, or corrective action.
Attend all Supervisory and Safety meetings at the designated times.
Comply with all and assist Sanitation Manager in ensuring team member compliance with all company policies to include Company’s Code of Conduct and Respectful Workplace policy.
Comply with all food safety, quality and environmental policies.
Ensure fundamental food safety and quality practices maintained to achieve food safety and quality objectives.
Support the development, implementation and maintenance and ongoing improvements of food safety programs.

The Sanitation Manager will cover work direction activities in the absence of the Sanitation Lead.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND EXPOSURES:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to operating and moving machinery and vibration, and outside weather conditions year around. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and requires hearing protection. Additional exposures include biohazards, odors, occasional use of hazardous chemicals, dust and wet floors.
