Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in teaching area.
- A valid teacher license for the state of Iowa.
- Such alternatives to the above requirements and qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Job Goal:To participate as a member of the instructional staff to direct learning activities in the attainment of subject, school, and system objectives and goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To evaluate students in terms of their academic, social, physical, and emotional needs and to develop appropriate activities to support growth in these areas.
- To provide opportunities for students to develop the ability to solve problems, think critically, to communicate well in oral and written formats, and to practice good study skills.
- To establish a classroom climate that is conducive to learning.
- Model and maintain high expectations for students.
- To carry out routine duties effectively and accurately.
- To work in a cooperative and collaborative fashion with other staff members for the benefit of individual students.
- To work closely with parents in guiding the growth and development of students.
- Have highly developed communication and human relations skills when dealing with parents, students, and colleagues.
- To contribute to the continuous improvement of the educational program by making suggestions for improvement and participating enthusiastically in all professional development and school improvement activities.
- To engage in appropriate lifelong learning opportunities and stay current with effective strategies and methodologies in your teaching area.
- To participate positively in the development and improvement of curriculum both as an individual and as a member of a curriculum committee.
- To promote the development of student self-discipline by providing appropriate supervision in your classroom, in the school building, on school grounds, and at school activities.
- To work with community agencies, when necessary, for the benefit of groups and individual students.
- Have an interest in participating in the change process as a positive contributing member to develop program innovations and refine practice.
- To contribute to the resolution of educational issues at the state and national levels.
- To prepare and maintain an accurate inventory of your area.
- Willingness to provide and support extracurricular activities which will enhance the development of our students.
- To assume such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the principal.
Terms of Employment:Teachers will work an eight-hour day with terms and conditions set by the Master Contract.
